I've been thinking of writing a GUI for MoBlock using python/ruby, which would handle starting/stopping, updating blocklist, live status and letting people cancel certain ips/ports from the blocklist. Or you can also right click on the address that it blocks and allow. There you can add port 80 (80 which is http is already accepted for outgoing connectiond and their counterpart replys > in.)Ībout restarting moblock it's in the howto, but anyway. When your not using peerguardian to block ips just disable the filters, but when you need it be sure to re-enable the filters. MoBlock has a whitelist at the top of /etc/moblock/MoBlock-nfq.sh. I chose MoBlock because almost nothing is happening to PG linux ATM. I would say moblock is very easy to handle, and it has a nice and clean structure. Let me know, and i'll update my howto.īionnaki: MoBlock is actively developed, PG for linux is not. It would be really nice if you (or somebody else) would try this as i have no need for a software firewall (i'm behind a hardware firewall ATM). Jamesford: I really don't know if it works alongside firestarter. If you are running a kernel > 2.6.15, could you run 'lsmod | grep NFQUEUE'. Sure, it costs you a few bucks every month but it gives you much better protection.Pinoyskull: Are you using breezy? If so, you should install moblock-ipq instead. If you are looking to avoid detection, tracking, or spying then I’d recommend you go with a good reputable VPN service and an actual firewall or Seedbox. That being said, though the IP blockers work as they should, it is quite easy to bypass the IP blocker protection. If you don’t mind command line stuff and want extensive control when it comes blacklisting and whitelisting, then go with IPlist. If you don’t want the ability to see data being sent or received over the network, I’d recommend going with Simplewall as it has almost all the features of BeeThink IP Blocker and more for free.įor Linux users, if you need a simple to use GUI then go with PeerGuardian. ![]() Since there is a full-featured free trial, try the application under various scenarios before making a purchase decision. If you are Windows user and don’t mind paying for advanced features like the ability to monitor connections and see what data is being sent or received, go with BeeThink IP Blocker. If you already have an IP address list or programs that actively track problematic IP addresses, you can configure BeeThink IP Blocker to import those lists. If needed, you can block IP addresses of the entire country too. QBitorrentt, Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, OS/2, FreeBSD gibi birok. Along with specific IP addresses, you can also configure the application to block IP ranges. PeerBlock is a new version (aka a fork) of the popular PeerGuardian 2 software. BeeThink IP BlockerīeeThink IP Blocker is a very simple, minimal, and lightweight application that lets you block any and all IP addresses. However, PeerBlock lacks useful features and slow down your Internet speed significantly.
